Annette Vickers, on behalf of the PAN board, has written a brief summary of the situation in Nicaragua resulting in PAN Missions asking for your prayerful consideration of making an emergency donation to PAN. If you feel connected to one of our staff, Ernan or Belkis, or workers such as; Samuel, Jonathan, Mauricio, Allan, Martha or Mirna, you may even consider “adopting” that person and supporting them until the crisis is over.

Dear friends of PAN and Nicaragua:

We are all agonising over the domestic crisis situation in Nicaragua. Certainly none of us saw this coming. Most economic activity has come to a standstill and now the people are experiencing shortages of food, fuel and other necessities. One powerful positive is that it has mobilized Christians in Nicaragua and also abroad to pray fervently for this beautiful country. We are confident that God is already at work and that His perfect plans are falling into place bit by bit.

But meanwhile, PAN finds itself in crisis management as a mission organization. PAN relies on our Teams as our means of generating funds to pay salaries for our Nicaraguan staff and outside workers. These are the people that take care of you when you are in Nicaragua. With Mission trips being cancelled we are rapidly approaching a fiscal emergency but we want to be able to keep our staff working and to help all who are affiliated with PAN to be able to feed their families and keep their children in school. To this end we are asking you to prayerfully remember us and to make an emergency donation to PAN so that we can bless the people that we all know and love. Your gift of course will be tax receipted.

We are so extremely grateful to our faithful friends in Elora (the KNECT group) who already anticipated the need and blessed us with the first donation. Would you please consider following their example so that we can commit to supporting our extended Christian family in Nicaragua?
